If you want an Easter side dish that you can't go wrong with, make these Cheesy Potatoes!

JUMP TO RECIPE

As you’re gearing up for your Easter menu and searching for a crowd-favorite side dish, this recipe for cheesy potatoes are definitely one that everyone will love! As Easter approaches, families across the globe are gearing up for a delicious feast filled with traditional dishes and delightful treats. While ham or lamb often take center stage on the Easter table, it’s the side dishes that truly elevate the meal and leave lasting impressions on guests.

I recently shared my recipe for these delicious Honey Glazed Carrots and am excited to share another favorite, cheesy potatoes. Some call them Cheesy Potatoes, Party Potatoes, or as I’ve learned recently, “Funeral Potatoes”, call them whatever you want—everyone says the same—they’re so good!

If you’re looking for equally delicious appetizers for Easter to start your meal, I also shared my recipe for my Pickled Deviled Eggs. These appetizers for Easter are sure to be a hit, especially if you’re a pickle lover! I mixed a traditional recipe and added cornichon pickles for a fun spin on a classic.

Easter Side Dish Extravaganza

When it comes to Easter side dishes, the options are seemingly endless. From vibrant spring salads to buttery dinner rolls, there’s something to satisfy every palate. However, Cheesy Potatoes reign supreme as a timeless favorite that never fails to impress. Whether served alongside glazed ham, roasted turkey, or even as a standalone dish, Cheesy Potatoes bring warmth and indulgence to any Easter gathering.

Easter Side Dishes for a Crowd

Planning a feast for a large group can be daunting, but Cheesy Potatoes are here to save the day. This hearty side dish is not only delicious but also incredibly versatile and easy to scale up to feed a crowd. With simple ingredients like potatoes, cheese, sour cream, and seasonings, Cheesy Potatoes can be whipped up in no time and are sure to disappear quickly from the buffet table.

Traditional Easter Dishes with a Twist

While Easter is steeped in tradition, there’s always room to put a modern spin on classic dishes. Cheesy Potatoes is one of the popular traditional Easter dishes that offers the perfect opportunity to do just that. By incorporating different varieties of cheese, adding crispy bacon bits, or topping with a crunchy breadcrumb, cereal or potato chip crust, you can elevate this beloved side dish while still honoring tradition. Whether you prefer a gooey, cheesy texture or a crispy, golden crust, there’s a Cheesy Potato recipe out there to suit your taste.

My dad was the American dream. He came to this co My dad was the American dream.

He came to this country from Egypt and built a life he could be proud of, becoming a successful business owner who owned three neighborhood bars. But to him, they were more than just bars. They were always home to familiar faces and gave people a place to go, especially on the holidays, when he would make sure everyone had a meal and a place to be.

He loved to go deep sea fishing, play video games at his bar, wear all white, put way too much sugar in his tea, smoke his Marlboro Lights, drink a Heineken, wear his 14k gold and always had wads of cash in his pockets.

But nothing put a bigger smile on his face than his grandchildren.

Losing both of my parents in six months is something I still can’t wrap my head around. It feels unimaginable. There are moments I don’t know how to process it all, or how life can possibly look the same without either of them.

But I find comfort in knowing that my dad is in heaven, and I know my mom was there to welcome him with open arms 🙏

I will miss you forever, Daddy. I love you ♥️

My beautiful mom went to heaven. She passed peacef My beautiful mom went to heaven. She passed peacefully and is no longer fighting a battle she has fought for so long.

Nothing in this world prepares you for the heartbreak of losing your mom. My mom was everything to me, and I know how incredibly lucky I have been all these years to have had her as my mother. She taught me how to work hard, to be independent, strong, and assertive.

She was a powerhouse. Tough and honest, but always fair. Her bark bigger than her bite. But let me tell you about the German stubbornness…all the way to the end. I was always so proud you were my mom. A mom who did everything, for everyone. But her favorite role was becoming Omi to my two littles.

It’s up to us to keep our loved ones’ memories alive. If you knew my mom, please comment your favorite memory of her. Some of the only laughs I’ve had recently have come from friends sharing their favorite moments with her over the years.

I promise to continue her legacy. To say her name. To teach my children what an incredible woman their Omi was and how deeply she loved them. While her proudest accomplishment was being a selfless mother to her two children, mine was being able to care for her over the last 11 years, the way she cared for me my entire life. I will forever cherish the moments we walked through the hard together.

Be free, Mom. You are out of pain now. No more suffering. Watch over us and send me the signs, I will look for you in everything we do and know you are shining down on us forever.

I love you. In Gottes Namen 🙏♥️
