3 Of My Favorite Holiday Craft Ideas for December

Holiday craft ideas, Craft nights, Holiday party ideas

As the holiday season unfolds and the kids are home on break, it’s the perfect time to get crafty and create something special. If you’re looking to make a fun decoration or enjoy a cozy indoor activity, holiday crafting is a fun way to get in the holiday spirit! Whether you are looking for holiday craft ideas for family craft nights or holiday party ideas, here are 3 perfect options:

1. Handmade Holiday Cards for Your Family Craft Nights

One of my favorite holiday craft ideas is making personalized holiday cards. These handmade cards can add an extra touch of love to your greetings and make fun artwork on the fridge. You can use whatever stickers or embellishments you have on hand or you can get creative and let your kids’ imagination run wild with pens and pencils! Either way, handmade holiday cards are a sweet way to spread holiday cheer.

Materials:
  • Blank cards or cardstock
  • Stamps
  • Watercolor, paints or markers
  • Stickers, ribbons, or embellishments

Start by designing your cards with holiday stamps, or create your own custom watercolor designs. You can also incorporate fun embellishments like glitter or ribbons for added texture.

Handmade cards are not only a wonderful way to show you care but also a great keepsake for the recipients! Don’t forget to sign the card and include the date so you can look back and remember the craft night when you made it.

2. Holiday Party Decor Ideas: DIY Snowflake Ornaments

Holiday craft ideas, Craft nights, Holiday party ideas

I love making snowflake ornaments and have been making them since I was in elementary school! Not only are they simple to create, but they can also be customized to fit any color scheme or theme you choose! All you need to make them are printer paper and a pair of scissors. For added sparkle, try decorating them with glitter, sequins, or small beads.. I love taping them to the windows so I can see them from the outside!

Materials:
  • White paper or craft sticks
  • Scissors
  • Glue or a hot glue gun
  • Glitter, sequins, or beads
  • Ribbon or twine for hanging

Simply cut your paper into snowflake shapes, glue the pieces together, and decorate with your favorite embellishments. I love the trick of folding the paper in half or in fourths and cutting so all sides are even.

Once your snowflake is dry and you have added everything you want, add a ribbon for hanging, and you have your own custom snowflake ornaments!

3. Holiday Craft Ideas: Envelope Advent Calendar

If you’re looking for holiday party ideas for you and your friends to have a holiday craft night, an envelope advent calendar might be the way to go! Tell everyone to bring an old frame that they will want to use as the base for their calendar. You can write fun activities on the cards like movie night or family baking night. Plus your kids will look forward to opening a card every day!

Materials:
  • Empty frame
  • Wire
  • Mini clothespins
  • Mini Envelopes
  • Colored sharpies or pens

Attach the wire to the empty frame using hot glue. Depending on the size of the frame, make sure you add enough rows! Then write the activities on the cards and stuff them in the mini envelopes to attach to the wire with the mini clothespins.

My dad was the American dream. He came to this co My dad was the American dream.

He came to this country from Egypt and built a life he could be proud of, becoming a successful business owner who owned three neighborhood bars. But to him, they were more than just bars. They were always home to familiar faces and gave people a place to go, especially on the holidays, when he would make sure everyone had a meal and a place to be.

He loved to go deep sea fishing, play video games at his bar, wear all white, put way too much sugar in his tea, smoke his Marlboro Lights, drink a Heineken, wear his 14k gold and always had wads of cash in his pockets.

But nothing put a bigger smile on his face than his grandchildren.

Losing both of my parents in six months is something I still can’t wrap my head around. It feels unimaginable. There are moments I don’t know how to process it all, or how life can possibly look the same without either of them.

But I find comfort in knowing that my dad is in heaven, and I know my mom was there to welcome him with open arms 🙏

I will miss you forever, Daddy. I love you ♥️

My beautiful mom went to heaven. She passed peacef My beautiful mom went to heaven. She passed peacefully and is no longer fighting a battle she has fought for so long.

Nothing in this world prepares you for the heartbreak of losing your mom. My mom was everything to me, and I know how incredibly lucky I have been all these years to have had her as my mother. She taught me how to work hard, to be independent, strong, and assertive.

She was a powerhouse. Tough and honest, but always fair. Her bark bigger than her bite. But let me tell you about the German stubbornness…all the way to the end. I was always so proud you were my mom. A mom who did everything, for everyone. But her favorite role was becoming Omi to my two littles.

It’s up to us to keep our loved ones’ memories alive. If you knew my mom, please comment your favorite memory of her. Some of the only laughs I’ve had recently have come from friends sharing their favorite moments with her over the years.

I promise to continue her legacy. To say her name. To teach my children what an incredible woman their Omi was and how deeply she loved them. While her proudest accomplishment was being a selfless mother to her two children, mine was being able to care for her over the last 11 years, the way she cared for me my entire life. I will forever cherish the moments we walked through the hard together.

Be free, Mom. You are out of pain now. No more suffering. Watch over us and send me the signs, I will look for you in everything we do and know you are shining down on us forever.

I love you. In Gottes Namen 🙏♥️
